Parental Bereavement Leave

The government has announced that as of 6 April 2020, parents will be entitled to a statutory minimum of two weeks’ paid bereavement leave if they lose a child who is under the age of 18 or if a baby is stillborn from 24 weeks of pregnancy. This will be known as ‘Jack’s Law’, in memory of a child whose mother campaigned on the issue.

In April we will be updating our clients’ Employee Handbooks to include this new legislation. If you would like a free review of your Employee Handbook to ensure you remain up to date with all of your HR policies and procedures, please get in touch today.
